Episode 16 — The Name Game

Bob Bonnar, Alexis Barker Season 1 Episode 16

Local officials like to make a big deal about protecting the confidentiality of citizens of our community, especially juveniles, and they use it as an excuse to withhold a whole lot of information from the newspaper — and from you! This week, Bob and Alexis go off the page to explain the News Letter Journal's policies and processes for covering court cases and other stories where accusations are made against individuals in our community. We also talk about our own position on publishing names of minors and other people who find themselves on the wrong side of the rules, and describe what it is like to work with the courts and public officials to provide the community with information that you really should have. (Spoiler Alert: Some officials are less transparent - and honest - than others.)
